These are some breeds that I would recommend: Irish Draughts, Welsh Ponies, Halfingers, Connemara Ponies, New Forest Ponies etc. All of these breeds have very good dispositions. They are all intelligent, gentle, laid-back, affectionate, willing, couragous, loyal, sensible and trustworthy x Hope that helps x Good luck =] x
Different people have different opinions but Friesians are well known for their beauty.
Friesians are known for beauty, but Quarter Horses are also beautiful. but i have to agree with him/her ^. Friesian horses are the most beautiful
[improved to my answer]
I love and lease a quarter horse, they are beautiful. But, for me I have to say mustangs. They are free and are beautiful. Wonderful. Unique. So many things, and to me, they are the most beautiful. This clearly shows that is depends on how you think and the person thinks. :)
A thoroughbred because they are normally used for racing. They have very big lungs for lots of breath. They have long legs for fast running. Their big lungs affects on their stamina because you need breath for long distance running. These characteristics of a thoroughbred make riding a lot easier to handle for them.
Another opinion:
A quarter horse is also a great horse for those who like to go riding, as they are built and bred for work under the saddle, be it on a ranch or doing recreational activities. Paints, Appaloosas, Morgans, or any other horse that is bred for the saddle is a great horse to consider for riding.
One must note that temperament, conformation and experience is actually far more important to a rider than the actual breed. There can be more variance of temperament within a breed than between breeds. So choose your horse wisely if you want a horse that will last you a long time and be a good riding companion for you to trust and work with.
The Cob Is Great But Throughbreds Are Best .
will my opinion is the mustang or Clydale or a DRAFT horse

A number has not been determined, but many horses were bred from the 3 original thoroughbreds in England, and made many different breeds. with a select number of horses from other countries, English horses are large in number.
Draft horse breeds are becoming more popular all the time. Although not as widespread as saddle horse breeds theses wonderful horses can be found almost anyplace there are people. A hundred years after these 'gentle giants' were replaced by machines, there are more of them then ever before. They are being crossbred with different, lighter breeds to create new breeds and different types of horses.

How many different breeds of horse are there? 102 or 400
