Bad parts
The flush valve or the flapper.They are easy to replace and they do not cost a lot.Pull off the tank cover and see if the flapper is seated properly.Replace that first,it is the cheapest way to go.If that doesnt work then replace the flush valve.That should fix the problem.Follow the instructions,it may look intimidating but it is really quite simple.Good luck
The flapper valve ( the rubber valve in the middle) has become worn or a little warped. Don't even waste time fixing it, just take it out, go to the store ( with it for comparison) and buy a new one. Only 5-9 $ and an easy fix.
