Ocelot live in South America, Central America and Mexico. There have been sightings of them in Texas and Arizona but these are rare.
They are solitary and nocturnal. They live in areas with dense foliage, including tropical forests, Mangrove swamps and Savannas. They rarely come out in the open, preferring to stay well hidden.
The ocelot has never been common in the U.S., most of the ones seen in this country are vagrants from Mexico. The ocelot is doing fairly well, not considered an endangered species.
Sometimes the ocelot can reproduce in any season of the year, but it needs to be in the night. Most of the time the ocelot reproduces in the spring. (Usually in texas)
Lepords & Jagurs
An ocelot typically gives birth to a litter of 1 to 3 cubs, with 2 being the most common number. The mother ocelot cares for her cubs alone and raises them until they are independent.
