Infantry may be stationed anywhere the US Army is garrisoned or deployed. In essence, every soldier in the US Army, regardless of his MOS or assignment is infantry.
It's one of the many functions which has been outsourced to private contractors. If you were deployed with that MOS, you'd be more likely to do gate guard duties than the actual functions of your MOS.
It's been pretty commonplace for members of the Army Reserve to be activated and deployed to countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan, especially for service members in a shortage or high demand MOS (such as motor transport or military police).
The safest MOS in the Army would be one dealing with the Army Band, Human Resources, or finance. These include the MOS - 42F, 42R9B, 42 S, or 44C.

A "Whiskey" or "Whiskeys" is one (as in 68W - the MOS ID for Army medics) "Doc" is probably the most common.
Mail clerk is a supplemental duty - it doesn't carry its own MOS.
Historically, I can't be certain, but the 10th Mountain Division has been the most frequently deployed division since its reactivation in the 1980s. Since WW1, 82nd Infantry Division (later Airborne) has been deployed to areas of the globe such as Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Grenada etc. because it is an reactionary force. The 10th is not considered that but a secondary. However it could be for cold weather areas.
