The violin, harp, piano, acoustic guitar, french horn, trumpet, and oboe are generally considered to be difficult instruments.
The conductor of an orchestra told me that it's harp - two hands play 47 strings
individually, times 7 pedals and all make different nodes.

What is the most difficult musical instrument to learn or play?

Most organologists agree that the theremin is incredibly
difficult to play, as it is the only musical instrument that you do
not actually touch to play. Because of this, it is often used for
sound effects rather than melodies. Other difficult instruments
would be the harp (though in my opinion it's easier than most once
you get used to it) and the organ (same comment as harp).
