Can jumbo leopard geckos use repti bark for bedding?

Yes. Actually, a lot of people at pet stores that I've checked out (I have 2 female leopard geckos, they live on a Repti-Carpet) recommend forest bedding, although I have never actually tried it.

What happens if leopard gecko eats gravel?

They can become impacted and die. gravel is not a proper substrate for leopard geckos. Paper towel and repticarpet are the only things you should have for substrate. Sand is also not acceptable, as this too causes impaction.

What does the tortoise symbolize?

slow moving dull, It depends... I MUST disagree with the anomonyse writer ubove. it depends on how much love and atention you give your tortoise at the younger part of its life. if you DO give your tortoise love and attention, your tortoise is the MOST intresting pet. Slow, it may be, lacking in in persanality and dull, it is not. there beautiful cretures that deserve respect. Hope this helps... Cheers! REPTI

Do you have to put something on the floor of a leopard gecko's tank?

Yes, a leopard gecko should not be dwelling on cold glass. They enjoy ambient temperatures of 95+ degrees. This can be done using a repti carpet/ Floor tiling. I do not encourage finely grain sand as the leopard gecko will ingest a lot during feedings. if the animal is removed for feeding in a separate terrarium, then finely grain sand would be acceptable.

How much sand do you need in a bearded dragon cage?

If you are going to use sand make sure it is calcium sand or clean play sand, you don't need much 1-2 inches is fine. Their is a lot of debate on this out there as beardies have been known to swallow the sand and impact themselves (not be able to go to the bathroom) and die. If you want to avoid this possibility use a solid substrate such as Repti carpet or ceramic tile

How can you tell if your lizard is having a seizure?

First the hands will stick out in an awkward wayThen the legs stick strait backNext its back will bend sidewaysAfter that its mouth will open and it will start shakingFinally it stops just move its body and it will go back to normal PS: You will need to get a repti glow uvb light from petsmart (best price) or petco. Provides necessary UVB rays for optimal calcium metabolism.Hope this helps, my baby bearded dragon did this crazy seizure stuff and i was scared but i think the new lighting helped him.

What kind of sand goes in a sand crabs cage?

the right type of sand for a hermit crab is like at the beach. But make sure that the sand doesn't have any wood or mulch like chips in it, it's harmful for them. And don't buy any of the colored sand it is paint on it and the toxins in it can kill your hermit crab.Don't put any gravel in the sand you get because it makes it impossible for the hermit carb to dig around. So I hope that answers all your questions!

Are the home depot ecosmart true color CFL's affective at all against SAD?

I recently bought 5 of the 27 watt ones for a terrarium and aquarium I am building. It's 5500k color temp is similar to the color of the light the sun produces at around 10-11 AM and 1-2 PM, roughly. However, the manufacturer does not supply the CRI ( color rendering index ) number that many manufactures do. This number reflects the bulbs ability to reproduces colors in the same manner as the sun, 0 being as bad as it gets, and 100 being exact or perfect in doing so. It can get much more complex than this. From my experience, of about a week, they are great. The plants seem to be thriving and both the plants and the fish seem much more colorful. I hear the brand Blue Max brand and the Exo-Terra Repti Glo 2.0 do a very good job at these too. I hope that helps.

Yes, turtles can live in tap water but it is important to get a water conditioner to remove any chemicals that may be in the water. A water filter is also good to remove impurities and keep water fresher longer.
