Sikhs have no holidays nor do they have any holy place. Any day and any place is holy to remember God. Sikhs do celebrate the birthdays and other ceremonies of Sikh Gurus which they have as a part of religion but they don't have any particular day as being holy or any place being holy.
im improving the other persons answer and Sikhs do have a holy place of worship a gurdwara it mean the gurus door. A gurdwara is the holy place of a Sikh! :) ;)
On Guru Nanak's birthday
the word your probaly looking for isn't 'meditate', but actually the word pray is better suited. Sikhs pray to god. Being a Sikh myself i know that most like to pray when the sunrises and usually at the end of the day when the sun sets but , in the eyes of god you are welcome to pray at any time of the day
Its all about faith. As many times you go to a Gurudwara, its good for you.
baptised Sikhs pray very early in the morning at 4am because it is belived to be the purest time of day. also in the evening they pray. Sikhs go to the gurdwara alot too (Sikh temple).
Asmany times as they like, as some Sikhs are not as strict to their religon than others. but manly 5 times a day.
Sikhs Perform Amrit Vela Which Is A Prayer Time Before Sunrise.1st Sikhs Rise And Chant Waheguru for about 1/2 hour to an hour.2nd Sikhs Take a Cold Bath To Clean Themselfs3rd Sikhs Recite Nintem Banis (excluding Kirtan Sohila and Rehras Sohila)Then Sikhs Work hard for the dayIn the Eveining Sikhs Recite Rehras SohilaBefore Sleep Sikhs Recite Kirtan Sohila
Sikhs have no particular day to worship, any day, any place, any time is good to worship God. Though due to one's own schedule, Sundays happens to be the most apt day to worship.
Punjabi people are mainly sikhs or hindus but mainly sikhs they pray to god like most people if you want to know more just go on google and search Sikhism Have a great day -Mysterious Helper
No, most pray 5 times a day.
I read somewhere Sikhs pray 5 times a day. I did not know this as I am a Sikh myself and I thought there were 2 main prayers, Morning and evening. Can someone shed some light on this, thank you.Sikhs are to go to Gurudwara two times a day, in the morning and in the evening. For prayers, there is nitnem which is that, Sikh would read and contemplate on five banis in the morning, one in the evening and one before bedtime. So there are three times when a Sikh would pray in a day. But as you said depending on how much one can put his/her effort one can do two times a day too.3rd AnswerAgain, like most other things religion is optional. If religion is optional then so are prayers. There are different types of Sikhs: the everyday Sikhs that look like you and me (cut their hair, eat meat and maybe don't pray much) and then on the other hand there are Amritdhari Sikhs. In word an Amritdhari Sikhs would be referred to as "baptised" Sikhs. These Sikhs are required to do there 5 banis (5 morning prayers) every morning, Rehras Sahib in the afternoon and then Soheila Sahib also know as Kirtan Soheila in the evening (bedtime prayer). These type of Sikhs are also required to do Ardaas after every prayer. Ardaas is simple way of thanking god for all that he has given you, for making a wish and remembering those who sacrificed their lives long ago.Now going back to the other types of Sikhs, some may follow this commitment and others may not. Nothing is forcefully done in the Sikh faith as everything is optional; however, in the Sikh holy scriptures it is implied many times that a Sikh is to be an Amritdhari Sikh.
I do not know any religion but from my religion I know it is important to pray every day at any time.
Most Malay pray just like muslims.5 times a day
