The Atomic BOmb tested in New Mexico in the 70's
Atom Bomb
The most powerful bomb ever made was the tsar bomb.
Hydrogen bomb is the most powerful bomb
The hydrogen bomb is the most powerful bomb ever tested.
Castle bravo is the most powerful bomb ever IN THE US
A hydrogen bomb is, by far, the most destructive weapon that mankind has ever invented. It is the most powerful type of nuclear bomb.
The most powerful nuclear bomb ever built was detonated by the USSR in 1961, it had a yield between 52 MTons to 58 MTons (depending on how it was measured). The design was capable of a maximum yield of 100 MTons, but was tested at reduced yield. It was a fully deliverable 3 stage thermonuclear fusion bomb and was tested by actually dropping it from a bomber exactly as it would be used in combat.
Hydrogen bomb gets some of its energy from fusion, uranium or plutonium bomb gets all of it from fission. Either can be more powerful, depending on the design. The most powerful bombs built have all been hydrogen bombs.
The most powerful currently in the US stockpile is the 1.2 megaton B83 freefall gravity bomb. The most powerful ever designed in the US was a 35 megaton warhead for the Titan ICBM, but never built. The Titan ICBM carried a 9 megaton W-53 warhead, the most powerful on a US missile. The most powerful ever built in the US was the 25 megaton B41 3-stage freefall gravity bomb.
The largest megaton bomb ever detonated was the Soviet Union's Tsar Bomba in 1961, with a yield of about 50 megatons. It was the most powerful nuclear weapon ever created and tested.
The highest yield fusion bomb ever built had a yield of 52 to 58 MTons. The blast effects of an airburst at optimum burst height would extend to a radius of roughly 60 miles (100 km) around ground zero. How big is London? How big is England, BTW?
An explosion generated by antimatter is four times more powerful then a nuclear bomb
