While some say it is the 950 JDJ.I would say that the .50BMG is the most useful and widely used caliber. They have found a home with the sniper rifles used for long range shooting and sniping found in the conflicts of Irag, and Afganistan.
Lets get something straight. There are BB guns / Rifles and there are Pellet guns / Rifles and there are a few BB & pellet rifle combinations. Most BB guns are .177 Caliber, there are a very few that are .22 caliber. Pellet gun & Rifles come in .177, .20, .22, .25, 9 mm, 40 Caliber, and 50 Caliber. The last 3 calibers are usually high powered air rifles in the PCP class of rifles (PreCharged Pneumatic) they require a special pump or SCUBA tank to charge them. So Yes there are calibers much larger than .177
Whale bones, harpoons, and now a days high powered rifles.
No need, they have SWAT for that
those fire arm are above .38 caliber..
Yes. they have to be recharged after a set number of shots. With a special compressor, Hand pump or Scuba tank. I find the scuba tank the easiest. PCP rifles and guns are in a high end class of there own. These are the most powerful airguns made.
Generally, a "high-powered rifle" is any modern rifle designed to fire a bullet at high velocity from a hollow cylindrical metal shell by means of igniting a primer and detonating a smokeless power charge contained within. Exactly where a "rifle" becomes a "high-powered rifle" has never been definitively established.Clearly rifles chambered for the .30/30, the .30/06, the .270 Winchester, and the .308-- which are designed for hunting medium to big game and/or military use--are high-powered rifles. Even smaller rounds such as the .243 Winchester, the .222 and the .22 hornet are generally so classified. Alternatively, .22 rimfires are generally not considered high-powered rifles, nor are rifles designed to fire handgun rounds such as the .357 magnum and the .44 magnum.

Yes. Given the right situation. Also there are several high powered pellet guns that are capable of killing a person. Most of these are in the PCP (PreCharged Pneumatic) Class of air guns / rifles. They can fire up to a 50 Caliber slug.
They used their modern sniper rifles and high-powered machine guns.
