The type of floor surface has to be taken into account when one is looking for a cleaning agent. If one has hardwood floors they should be cleaned with vinegar and water. For carpets a professional carpet cleaning solution should be used. The use of strong cleaning agents on the floor regardless of the type of flooring is never a good idea, because it could cause harm to the floor surface.

A hard floor cleaner varies on different prices and brands. Most of the good ones like pine sol etc. are around 50 dollars and cover about 500 square feet per bottle.
The cheapest floor cleaner I was able to find online was Method Squirt & Mop Wood Floor cleaner. It was being sold at $5.99 at www.soap.com. However I'm sure you could probably find it for cheaper elsewhere.
