The most comon color for a horse is Brown or chestnut. But if it is a Arab the most comon color would be gray.
The most common color is grey. Black is rarest and much sought after. Bay and chestnut rank about the same.
Believe it or not this is not half horse/half gorilla. The word is grulla and its a color of horse. (not a breed) Dark golden brown with black undertones, the grulla (some say it grullo) is not one of the most common horse coat colors and many people have never heard of it.
Coat color is always an acquired trait in horses. For example, if you breed a black horse and a chestnut horse, you can get a black, bay, or chestnut foal, but never a palomino, buckskin, grullo, roan, or any other color.
Bay is a color and as such will have no bearing on how a horse feels. Most horses when properly cared for have silky coats that are a bit slick to the touch. If the horse is ill or not properly cared for then the coat will be rough and coarse to the touch.
a dun horse is most commonly associated with a dorsal stripe. a dun is almost a golden color.
The cocker spaniels most common color is tan :)
Black
It depends on whether the stallion or mare is homogeneous for a certain color gene. You could have many possibilities, but a logical predication would be either palomino, chestnut, white, or bay. (Bay and chestnut being the two most common horse colors.)
