One of them that has been around a long time and that a lot of people have tried to vandalize is "Why did the chicken cross the road." But the answer changes a lot, since when we discover questions that are being vandalized too much, we protect them so that people can't do that anymore... so there isn't just one answer to that.
If an answer is being vandalized repeatedly, or the answer has turned into an argument, you can email WikiAnswers @ Answers.com (remove the spaces) and ask for the question to be protected.
If an answer is being repeatedly vandalized please contact WikiAnswers @ Answers.com (no spaces). Please include the exact wording of the question.
Because it is in the data base. People can edit any answer any time. We at WikiAnswers believe that anyone can add to an answer and make it better, so the question usually remains open unless there is clear indication that it is being vandalized.
this question
Some people, called vandals, enjoy vandalizing answers.
Because in an "all posting" concept, any answer can be improved or added to or even vandalized.
Answers can only be locked or unlocked by a WikiAnswers Supervisor. Answers are "locked" in cases where an answer has become a debate instead of an answer, or if the answer has been vandalized too many times. If a question has been locked for either of these reasons, it may be unlocked after a time, or may be kept locked if the question continues to be a target for vandalism or debate within the answer.
This question will be protected until further notice as it has the EXTREMELY HIGH RISK of being vandalized. If you think you can answer this questions abiding by the WikiLaw, please feel free to message me or another Super so they can unprotect the question. When you finish answering the question, message the same Super so that they can protect it again to keep it from being vandalized. Thank you, --Crash Override, WikiAnswers Floating Supervisor
There are a number of us here that are WikiAnswers Supervisors- when we find those, we delete them- and sometimes, we delete the vandal leaving those answers. If you have a question that has been vandalized, you can improve the answer by deleting that response, save it, and it goes back to the "to be answered" pile.
Actually, there are technical answers on WikiAnswers. It is just that you'd have to dig for them. One issue is the bias against technical answers by younger users. To them, that is boring or just not cool, so those questions are the most likely to get vandalized.
While the majority of answers on WikiAnswers are accurate, there are some answers posted that are not, as well as answers that have been vandalized. But there are Supervisors who are constantly patrolling the site, as well as many knowledgeable contributors who continually add valuable, correct information and remove the incorrect and vandalized answers.
Answers that are being vandalized may be closed, or "protected," by WikiAnswers supervisors. If you see an answer that is being persistently vandalized please notify a supervisor or e-mail WASupport-at-Answers.com.
