The musical Oklahoma by Rodger & Hammerstin's takes place in the early 1900's, in the Indian Territory of the early American West. The same time period when Oklahoma was being established as a state. It is a story about Laurey and two men fighting over her: the cowboy, Curly, and Jude, a hired farm worker. It's based on a issue faced by many people of the time, and a conflict between the fam workers and cowboys. As characters struggle to find love, hope , and the "American Dream". While the other side to it a love tale. Curly and Laurey are both young but quite stubborn. To spite Curly Laurey accepts and invitation to the dance from his enemy Jud. This will cause them to duel, and Jude falls on his knee and dies.
