I did some research on the matter since I didn't know either. First off a Buddhists Monks and Nuns robes are different depending on the climate of the area. So hot areas have less fabric than cold areas. Secondly a Nuns robe is different than a Monks robe. So there is no standard Buddhist robe.

It appears that there is no single name for a Buddhist robe, the word used is different in every language but is simply that countries word for Robe.
