Spacelab refers to modules used on space shuttles, rather than a physical place in the sky. When in use, these modules are typically attached to the cargo bay of the space shuttle during missions in space.
The United States, Japan, Canada, and the European Space Agency (a collection of multiple European countries) were involved in the development of Spacelab, a reusable laboratory used on Space Shuttle missions.
