anything that floats in it - even an ice cube!
Any special name: less dense than water, low density.
Nomenclature. They essentially both mean "big body of water". Something that has "Ocean" in its name is probably larger than something that has "Sea" in its name, but the two words are more or less synonymous when not part of a proper noun.
In general, as the temperature of a substance increases, it's density decreases. One exception of this is water. as liquid water approaches it's freezing point, the water molecules rearrange themselves into a lattice structure, actually making it less dense. This is why ice floats on top of water.

Lowlands is a name commonly applied to places where there are no mountains. If there were mountains in a place, they wouldn't call it lowlands.
A thermohaline current is a gravity current. It is driven by gravity. The root idea is that fluids of different densities are acted on differently by gravity, and gravity "pulls" more on more dense fluids. That means cooler or more salty water, which is more dense than warmer or less salty water, will be "pulled down" more, and will displace the warmer or less salty and "dive deep" to set up deep ocean currents.
