Boscastle is a village and a fishing port North of Conwall. The name comes from Botreaux Castle which was in the possession of the Botreaux Family. Boscastle is world-famous for its floods.
The Boscastle flood started in 2004 by torrential rain and the river Jordan burst its banks. It was also caused by snow melting, due from the winter. The rain helped the snow melt and the river to burst, therefore, caused a flood
the river Valency burst its banks, no other main one. :)

boscastle is a good poor place
There are many ways in which the Boscastle floodings could be prevented. Building flood warning systems could warn people so they could evacuate the area but this wouldn't be efficient. The best thing to do would be, extend the river, so that more water can he held inside the river.
