A:The canonical books of the Old Testament, written prior to the Maccabean period, say nothing about angels being cast out of heaven. The Jews of the Apocalyptic period, from 200 BCE to 100 CE began to wonder why God had abandoned Israel and allowed evil to rule the world in their time. Such a degree of evil was more than God would ordain and greater than mere humans could cause. It must therefore be the work of a powerful spiritual force. This force would be the fallen angel, Satan, although Jews eventually returned to the earlier post-Exilic belief that Satan is the loyal assistant of God, tasked with testing the righteousness of men.

The Apocalyptic writers studied the Old Testament and proceeded to develop colourful accounts, as in the Book of Enoch. Enoch is taken on an inspection tour of Sheol, the shadowy underworld place of the dead, "the land of destruction, forgetfulness, and silence." During the journey he sees the sons of God in their fallen state and learns that these "angels, the children of heaven, saw and lusted after" the daughters of men.

The apocryphal Book of Jubilees specified that nine parts of the angels fell while one part remained sinless and loyal to God. Medieval writers later reversed these proportions, so that only one-tenth of the angels fell.

We should see from this summary that the notion of fallen angels is mere theological speculation. There is no possible answer to what happened to them.

The Bible tells us that: "...the angels that sinned..." (II Peter.2:4) who were cast "...down to hell [tartaroo; a spiritual condition of restraint]..." [same verse], have been restrained here on earth ever since... awaiting Judgment Day at the end of God's plan: "...to be reserved unto Judgment..." [same verse].

Little known or understood is that all the world is awaiting the "Last Great Day" of God's plan... when all of the generations of mankind with all of their life's experiences will be Judged by the works they have committed -- including the "angels that sinned."

"Do ye not know that the saints shall JUDGE THE WORLD? ...Know ye not that WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS? ..." (I Cor.6:2-3).

That is where the world... and all the angels "restrained here on earth" are headed.

As for "what happened to them" -- from the 3rd chapter of Genesis, it's revealed that Satan ["that old Serpent, called the Devil" - Rev.12:9] and his "angels" who were cast down to earth with him [verses 9 & 13] have been "influencing the decisions of men, everywhere."

Since Adam and Eve gave their sovereignty over the world to Satan in the Garden of Eden... the angels that were cast out onto the earth have been deceiving mankind -- blinding him to God's Truth, TEACHING MANKIND THE VILE DEPTHS OF SIN [the symbolic: 'bottomless pit'].

In the gospels we see Jesus casting these wicked, influential "unclean spirits" [demons, devils] out of men, virtually, "left-and-right" with maladies of all kinds from suicidal tendencies to epileptic fits. Biblical accounts that many men, today, reject as being factual... thus adding to the spiritual deception that these "restrained angels" hold upon the hearts and minds of mankind.

In the two accounts of Jesus' "temptation" by Satan [Matt. & Luke 4]... Satan reveals himself as being the OWNER OF ALL THE GOVERNMENTS OF MAN on earth!!!

"...the Devil, taking Him up into an high mountain, shewed unto Him ALL THE KINGDOMS [governments] OF THE WORLD in a moment of time. and the Devil said unto Him, ALL THIS POWER WILL I GIVE THEE, and the glory of them: FOR IT HAS BEEN DELIVERED UNTO ME [given {delivered} handed over to him by Adam and Eve in the beginning]; and to WHOMSOEVER I WILL GIVE IT." (Luke 4:5-6)

In other words... Satan owns and influences the workings of man's governments [believe it; or don't]. That's what happened; that's what they have done, and that's what they are doing. Deceiving mankind... teaching man the ways of evil and disobedience against God's Commandments [Love God/Love One Another].

Man's "physical nature"... the five lustful senses of the flesh... are in tune with the ways of evil and these "cast down angels." The five senses of men don't care about others... but about the "self." The cravings and satisfaction of the physical senses. Man's nature is blinded to spiritual things. And it's by and through the spiritual aspect of life that men have to be awakened so that he might be made aware that it's this evil that he must overcome -- through the Power of his Creator, Jesus Christ [John 1:3]; so that man may one day in the future be "re-born as God's Children into His Family."

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD..." (Rom.8:16).

The angels that were cast down have been working to delude mankind to that Truth of God. They've been keeping mankind "in the dark"... keeping themselves hidden through man's blindness to spiritual things [and beings]. Telling men that "ghosts" are "disembodied men," so men won't realize that "ghosts and spooks" are really "cast out demons and unclean spirits."

The angels have been influencing, through their power over the governments, nations and the leaders of men... the course of history on earth -- the fighting, the distrust, the hatreds, envies, jealousies, greed and lusts for power in the world... for political power... for any lustful desire for power and influence over others at any level of society.

The cast-out angels are still at work in people everywhere on earth. The same "disembodied" unclean spirits that Jesus cast out of men centuries ago... have had new generations of men [houses, objects and things] to possess ever since. And are still at work today in the hearts and minds of government leaders... hate-filled races and cultures and religions of men... and in the hearts and minds of individuals who take the lives of others, indiscriminately.

And the Bible tells us that these "cast-out" angels, awaiting their trial in the Judgment, shall continue to influence man and his governments right up to the very end of God's plan... when they shall influence world leaders to FIGHT JESUS CHRIST when He returns to prevent the world from being destroyed [the "restrained" angels won't be allowed to destroy the earth -- they're using blinded, deceived, sin-sick, lusting, hateful mankind to do it for them: if Christ doesn't stop it].

"...I saw THREE UNCLEAN SPIRITS like frogs come out of the mouth of the DRAGON [Satan - Rev.12:9], and out of the mouth of the BEAST [the political/military leader during the prophesied 'Great Tribulation,' to whom the Dragon, the OWNER of man's governments GIVES TO HIM because he worships him [Rev.13:2]; as the Devil demanded of Christ in the temptation; or anyone else who would be a government leader on earth], and out of the mouth of the FALSE PROPHET [the religious power behind the Beast who works miracles on behalf of the Beast, drawing the nations of the world to him, sanctioning him and giveing him credibility in the world, that causes the world bow down and worship him - Rev.13:12-17]. For they are the SPIRITS OF DEVILS, working miracles, which GO FORTH UNTO THE KINGS OF THE EARTH and OF THE WHOLE WORLD, to gather them to the Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty... And he [it should be THEY... the three devils] gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue ARMAGEDDON." (Rev.16:13-16)

So, step back and take a good look at the world man has made for himself. Look at all the senseless murders, wars, bickering religions, diseases and pollution. Look at all the misery, suffering, death and destruction all around us that man has come to accept as "normal life."

Then... if you've a heart and mind to trust what the Bible says; to "believe" what the Bible says about the "angels that were cast out" onto the earth for the coming Judgment. If you've a heart and mind to "believe" what it says about what they've been DOING to mankind all these centuries: deceiving man into believing that other men are the problem... that men should distrust and hate other men... that men should kill other men... that hatred and killing and the mutilation and perversion of what God has created is "good entertainment."

If you can "believe" what the Bible says about these "dark spirits" that possess no love at all within them; but possess men and things for harmful purposes and their own tormented sake:

"Whenever the foul spirit goes out of a man, it wanders about in deserts in search of rest, but cannot find it. Then it says, 'I will go back to my house which I left,' and it finds it unoccupied, swept, and ready for use. Then it goes and gets seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there, and so the end of that man is worse than the beginning. This is the way it will be with the wicked leaders of this age." (Matt.12:43-45 WNT; William's New Testament]

If you can bring yourself to "believe" these and other passages in the Word of God regarding the "angels that were cast down" onto the earth -- then, you're on your way to understanding "what happened to them" after they were cast down. You'll begin to understand "what's been happening to man" since the beginning of creation -- begin to understand "what IS happening" in the world today -- and begin to understand why the Judgment of God is coming to earth.

What's written IS "happening." Time is running down for the "restrained angels that sinned and were cast down." The "end of the age" draws ever nearer. And the Judgment is going to "happen"... whether anyone believes it or not.

In the "world to come" [the New Heavens and the New Earth - Rev.21]... that follows the Judgment... there won't be these "cast down angels" anymore. And THAT WORLD won't be "IN SUBJECTION" to them, as this world is in this age.

"For unto the angels hath He NOT PUT IN SUBJECTION THE WORLD TO COME, whereof we speak." (Heb.1:5)

This world is subject to the influences of all angels; good and bad. But, it's the "cast down" angels who await the Judgment. Their influence on man and the earth is negative... bent on evil and wickedness, death and the destruction of God's creation... including, and especially MANKIND, if they had their way.

The "loyal" angels of God have a different influence whereby to subject men. It's to minister and serve [help, attend, aid, administer, relieve] those whom God is calling during this "age" to salvation... those predestined of God who will rule the coming Kingdom of God with Christ.

"Are they not all MINISTERING SPIRITS, sent forth to minister for them WHO SHALL BE HEIRS OF SALVATION?" (Heb.1:14)

Much has been, and is, "happening" on earth in the form of the invisible, spiritual and physical influences of angels. The Bible reveals that this world in this age is SUBJECT to them.

This horrifying, dying world is testimony to the "ministry" of the angels who were "cast down" to earth. What "happened" to them is, that they've been influencing the governments and nations of men to KILL, and HATE, and DESTROY... by whatever means at their disposal... or by whatever means they can invent.

It's all leading to the Judgment. The "cast down" angels would have accomplished their mission, sooner, but they've been "restrained" from exercising the full power of unrestrained spirit.
