A United States naturalization ceremony, also commonly referred to as a citizenship ceremony.
Someone that was born in the United States, has a parent that is a US Citizen or has been naturalized through the Citizenship process.
A "naturalized" citizen is someone who was not born on U.S. soil- they were not a citizen of the country when they were born, yet they have gone through the process of becoming and citizen and are now one.

This is called "jus soli" or right of the soil. 2) They are a child born to one or both parents that is an American citizen. This is referred to as "jus sanguin" or right of blood. (there are some other qualifications that must be met.) 3) Through naturalization which has a series of rules and tests that must be met
