Outer covering - protection. Disk (single or dual)- stores information written by the writer. Disk motor(measured in rpms) - spins the disk at high speeds. Writer(single, or dual per disk) - wrights information to the disk. Writer motor - moves the writer back and forth between the magnets to write the data onto the disk. Magnets - two high powered magnets that are placed just on the top and bottom (with a little space) to keep the writer free and off the disk. Board (containing power port and data port)- moves the data through wiring before it is moved to the writer.
