The contraction of a flexor allows the arm or leg to bend
flexing is tightening of your muscles, and joints bend to let you extend your arm from the elbow and shoulder
The upper arm is the humerus, the lower arm is made up of the radius and ulna. The joint connecting the upper is called the humeroulnar joint.

hinged.......
The ball-and-socket joint of the shoulder allows the upper arm to be raised and lowered.
I doubt if you could actually bend it, However if it is damaged it will need to be replaced. if the actual insert into the bone is bent then it is a serious job getting the old part out cleaning up the site and then replacing it. the reliability of the insert is not as good afterwards either.
ball and socket joint
An elbow is a joint that helps you bend your arm.
the ball-and-socket joint
Ball and socket joint The arm movement is possible because of ball and socket joint.
The ball-and-socket joint of the shoulder allows the upper arm to be raised and lowered.
No. Try and feel. Only triceps is contracted, biceps bend the arm over the elbow joint.
A hinge joint is a joint that can only move back and forth like a regular door. It allows the joint to bend and straighten, but does not rotate. An example is the elbow joint. A hinge joint is one of several types of bone joints found in the human body; it is used to connect the humerus and the ulna, which are found in the arm. More information visit the Related Link.
