Best known film of this type was (and the Alien came in only late in the story) Robinson Crusoe on Mars starring a Pre-Batman Adam West, Mona the wooly Monkey for much-needed comic relief, and an Alien who worships a God called (I"m taking this down phonetically Kahechapek (Divine order)- Naturally Adam West calls him Friday!Alien is an outcast from another planet.
Or possibly, 'Enemy Mine' from 1985, starring Dennis Quaid and Lou Gossett jr.
