When a knife is thrown does the handle ever hit the target instead of the blade?

It is possible for the handle of a knife to hit the target instead of the blade as a properly weighted knife will tumble end over end in flight. The trick is to throw from the right distance that the knife will stick its leading edge into the target when it hits.

How do you change the blade on a husky utility knife?

"you cant" Silly... Yes you can! Totally and easily! If this is the knife I have, there is a button in the middle of the handle that pops open the blade storage compartment. On the same side near the front end, there is another red button. When pressed, it doesn't even feel like it moves much. Look at a blade; see that there are 2 notches in the top? There is a little piece of metal that holds the blade in the knife. This is the button that disengages that little nubbin. To change the blade, extend the blade to its most forward position. Then press that red button, grab the blade (a pliers is safer than your fingers) and pull the blade out the tip of the knife. To insert the blade just do this in reverse. Be sure that the blade is, in fact, engaged and held securely before using the knife. Be sure to dispose of your blade safely. I wrap mine in duct tape and trash it.

What is the difference between a stiletto knife and a normal knife?

The difference between a survival knife and regular knife is fairly obvious. Survival knives usually have a fixed blade, the handle may be hollow to hold items that could be used. A survival knife is mainly to help in an emergency situation as a regular knife would be a smaller blade used for eating or cooking.

What is the hole in a knife blade used for?

The purpose of the hole in a knife blade depends on the type of knife. Machetes and similar tools/weapons often have a hole near the blade end.. The hole is for hanging the machete from a wall. Secondarily, the hole can be used improvise applications. For machetes with saw teeth on the top edge of the blade, (see the Gerber Machete), a rope can be passed through the hole to turn the saw into a two-person saw.For other, smaller blades the holes function to reduce the weight of the blade, to strengthen the blade through the distribution of the force acting on the blade, to provide a leverage point for one-handed opening of a folding knife, or as ornamentation. In general, they are ornamentation. The holes on these knives are generally in the body of the blade or toward the rear of the blade.
