As far as Bible referance there is no scripture that tells the names of the criminals that were put to death on each side of the Lord. All evedence shows that only one of the robbers was saved. One spoke against the Lord, the other, according to Luke chapter 23 verse 42 and 43, was with the Lord that day. Luke 23:43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
Neither history, nor the gospels, record the name of either thief crucified with Jesus. All we know is that one of them taunted him saying that if he was the Son of God he could save them and himself. The other, the one that Jesus forgave, realised that his punishment was fair for what he had done, and asked Jesus forgiveness. Jesus did so, and assured him that, whatever hehad done, he would be with him, that very day, in paradise.
His name is not given.
mary, soldiers, zaccheus
Dismas.
The bible does not give us the name of the thief o the cross. As he was a hard core crtimnal nothing is told of them , before or after the crucifiction.
The Romans wrote above Jesus' head on the the cross "This is Jesus, the king of the Jews" or something similar to that.
His name is not given in the New Testament, probably since the focus is on Jesus.
it means "cross" like jesus on the cross.
A cross with the portrait of Jesus on it- symbolising his death on the cross
Jesus died on it!
One of the thieves who was crucified with Him. The first thief goaded Jesus saying that if he was 'the Son of God' he could save both himself and them. However the second thief recognised Jesus' innocence and his own guilt and asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom. As a result of his turning to Christ, Jesus then promised that that very day the thief would be with him, in paradise.
the good thief was Dismas and the bad thief was GestasAnswerThey were crucified in the same way as Jesus. After being properly scourged they were nailed to their crosses. No pain and humiliation was saved to them. Dismas' cross was put on the right side of Jesus, while Gestas was crucified on Jesus' left. However, scripture does not name them and any names ascribed to them were later inventions.
actually, the thief is unnamed in the bible. there is no mention of it.
The name of the city was Jerusalem.
