when the load on a certain system increases the frequency of the system falls normally. It is dangerous to operate the equipments when the frequency is lower than the normal rated frequency so shed the when the frequency falls under voltage relays are used. I hope i answered your question :)

What is the definition of differential relay and how does it function?

In power transformer, a differential relay is a relay that verifies the balance of current between the primary and the secondary face of a transformer. It is also employed in other components of the power system like in protecting cables. Differential relay is also called a unit protection.

What is difference between reverse power relay and directional relay in electrical protection?

A reverse power relay is a directional overcurrent relay. Directional relays are relays that sense power flow in one direction, and include (directional) overcurrent relays, reverse power, and impedance based relays. So a reverse power relay is a directional relay, but a directional relay is not necessarily a reverse power relay.

How do you built a mains fail alarm?

Use an intermediary relay that is specifically and only connected to a circuit from a two pole breaker in the distribution panel. Through the N.C. contact of the relay connect your DC alarm system. As long as the power is on the relay stays energized and the N.C. contacts stay open. If a power failure occurs the relay will drop out and close the N.C. contacts. This will close the circuit on the alarm system.

How do you test generator reverse power?

To test the generators reverse power relay to make sure the generator is spinning at the right speed and a fuel issue is not involved. If it is not a fuel issue you need to check the frequency of the electronic load and frequency. If both of these issues are okay check the diesel electronic control unit for dirt and dust. This unit needs to be clean.

What is a reverse KVAR relay?

The reverse KVAR relay protects a generator from a loss of excitation. When the excitation system is lost, reactive power will flow from the system back into the generator. When this happens, induced currents at twice the system frequency will flow in the rotor windings and rotor structure.

Where is the blower motor relay on a 1998 Cadillac deville?

A 1998 Cadillac Deville does not have a blower relay. The system has a fuse and a controller to feed power to the blower motor.
