at idle is 7-10 Lbs
at 1800 RPM, is 35-42 Lbs
1400 - 1450 RPMs.
Some vehicles` oil pressure will do this when at an idle. This is normal, if the oil pressure does not get higher when at higher rpms then something may be wrong.
No less then 6 PSI. At 1000 RPMs. 18 PSI. are more at 2000 RPMs. 24 PSI. are more at 4000 RPMs. And that is factory specs.
You need 10psi for every 1000 rpms Thatβs perfectly fine oil pressure
Oil pressure ( minimum amount ) is 6 LBS. at 1000 RPMs. 18 LBS. at 2000 RPMs. 24 LBS. at 4000 RPMs. more pressure is fine too.
With this kind of question you need to check for electrical problems. Hook up a manual gauge and see it you have the same readings. If so you have internal engine problems. If not it's electrical.
If you have an engine that idles at 6000 rpms, you need to have it checked - immediately. Around 750 rpms would be normal.
Oil pressure ( Minimum ) 1000 RPMs 6 LBS 2000 RPMs 18 LBS 4000 RPMs 24 LBS It must have at least that much oil pressure at these different RPMs to LUBE the engine. If it has 80 LBS are more then the oil pump check valve is not working correctly
800 rpm normal temperature
I don't own a 2001 Cummins engine anymore, but when I did, it was a Signature 600, rated at 600 horsepower at 2100 RPMs. Your 2001, we can't say without knowing the model of engine you have.
Advertised engine oil pressure is: 1000 RPMs----6 LBS or more 2000 RPMs-----18 LBS. are higher
The minimum engine oil pressure at operating temperature is 15psi. You should see more than a 25psi when you operate at elevated RPMs.
