Check the owners manuel for the exact location. If you can't find it, try the driver side door.

Its an inline use (in the wiring) that goes to the motor behind the panel.
Possible heat soak of the starter or the timing is set too high.
I have this car except mine is the GTA model of the 90s trans am. It should be located in the same area as mine which is in the trunk to the right. You will have to use a coin to undo the screws that hole the interior on. When you pop off the interior you will see it.
If you want a good radiator get an all aluminum radiator as they cool a lot better, call summit racing as they have them.
If a 1988 Trans AM GTA hesitates at ideal, check the timing belt. If the timing belt is off, the car will hesitate and die.
