R200
if it is a manual trans then it wont have one in an automatic it should be between the firewall and the back of the motor and the handle should be red
16.8 gallons
Automatic.....Dexron III
The Trans Am GTA was not intruduced until 1987.
im assuming that its an automatic,if so then its just because your transmition is messed up,or your rear gears(not the trans gears)are damaged.
definitely the 6-speed
trans fluid
there probably isn't one. Pontiac discontinued trans dipsticks in models earlier than yours. You have to check the fluid at the fill plug on the trans itself.
If an automatic transmission ,broken bands in the tranny.
The 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am engine oil capacity is five quarts. The 305, 350, and the 454 cubic inch motors all had the same motor oil capacity.
