Kellogs Invented the Corn flake in the late 1800's by accident while working at a hospitol. Kellogs started up in 1906 but there were earlyer breakfast companys that made Granola and Oatmeal such a Quaker Oats Com.

Oats have been eaten as hot cereal or porridge in Great Britain for hundres of years. There is probably a brand of oats from Great Britain that predates anything in the US.
