That is in essence a myth based on some truth. The Model T was first produced in 1908 and it came in different colors from 1908 − 1914. From 1915 to 1925 it was only painted black. In 1926 & 1927 you could again get different colors. Black was used from 1915-25 because it was cheap, durable, and dried faster thus allowing a cheaper car and faster production.
