quonset point naval air station in Rhode Island where the first quonset hut was built in 1941 took its name from a local Indian word that may coincidentally have meant small long place
Assuming the word intended is "Quonset" as in Quonset hut - "1942, from Quonset Point Naval Air Station, Rhode Island, where this type of structure was first built, 1941. The place name is from a southern New England Algonquian language and perhaps means "small, long place."" - from www.etymonline.com

Quonset Hut
It typically takes a day to build a Quonset building, as these are pre-fabricated buildings. They were originally commissioned by the United States Navy but are still available today.

I assume that by quonset you are talking about a half-cylinder (ie: cut a pop-can in half like so: O becomes ( ); a half-circle that extends backwards). Just find the volume of a cylinder and divide by two. pi*r^2*L/2 So, multiply pi by the radius of your quanset squared multiplied by the length of your quanset and the divide by two. That is the volume of your quonset.
