Not true. Cherokee or Tsalagi was a name given by European explorers. The first recorded usage was in 1765 in Spanish written as Tchalaquei. Sources vary on the theory of the origin, either Creek, Muscogee or Choctaw. Ani yvwiya or ani giduwagi
