A pacemaker is a small device, about the size of a wristwatch, that helps regulate the heart rate. The pacemaker is made of two main parts - the leads and the generator. The leads are thin wires that connect the heart with the generator. The leads can be attached to the surface of the heart or passed through a vein inside the heart. The lead is then attached to the generator. The generator is a small metal case that includes a battery and a microcomputer, which is the "brain" of the pacemaker. The generator is sutured under the skin in the upper chest or abdomen.

The pacemaker changed the world for medical reasons. Before, the 1st pacemaker would be portable and would have to be plugged into an outlet. This changed the population of people that have bradycardia. The pacemaker improved as the years went on. Later on it was implantable and had batteries. Today, the pacemaker also can be charged from the outside without getting surgery to replace the battery due to the new technology that we have today.
Most modern pacemakers are made of an outer shell of titanium. You can read more about pacemakers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacemaker

John hopps invented the first external pacemaker. Later Earl Bakken improved this pacemaker by making it battery powered. And then Wilson Greatbatch invented the first implantable pacemaker!
How did the pacemaker effect the world?
If you think about it, God made the pacemaker because he gave man the knowledge to make it. Do you like Dragon ball z Kai episodes. I do, especially Vegeta ,Goku, majin buu, and gotenks.
