Normal ink, as used in injet type printers, will quickly fade if exposed to sunlight. For instance: place a freshly printed page in direct sunlight, cover half the page with a flat stone, or anything that will shade the area. Check in a few hours, and compare the page - you should be able to see that the uncovered area has faded (depending on the length of exposure). A laser printer (which uses a resin toner) will not fade, and is best for printing display posters, notices, etc, outdoors.
