safety pin
its a poppy for remembrance day
A broach, a badge a charity flag or ribbon, a poppy.
I got this off of a BBC America discussion Board, here you goThe pin to which you refer, represent a poppy flower, which were abundant on the battlefields of the First World War. The pin now symbolizes those who have fought or fallen in the Service of their Country in the World Wars and subsequent conflicts and is produced by the one of the largest Charities in the UKThe Poppy pin is offered to the general public in return for a donation, each year, between October and Remembrance Day, on November 11 by the Royal British Legion, a Charity which was set up after the First World War to aid and assist veterans of the Military Forces. If you Google Poppy Day, or Poppy Appeal.......all will be revealed.
Any alterations to the pin is considered 'bad' by most veterans. Although there was a change int he green center a few years ago. It was dropped as a part of the pin. However a Canada flag pin as the center should not be an affront. Best to ask a veteran.
Its called a poppy!
Poppy is spelt Poppy
It is the Poppy flower which the Brits wear to honor veterans from WWI--although it is now a symbol for all veterans.
