Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in c minor, Op. 67 was written in 1804-08. This symphony is one of the most popular and well-known compositions in all of European Classical Music, and one of the most often-played symphonies. It starts with the fifth of c minor.

Nobody really has an answer, and it's insignificant anyway. The number of notes does not make or break a composition written by Beethoven ... rather it's how it sounds to you, the listener. Btw, the entire public domain orchestral score is downloadable - when someone gets the note total, we hope they will post it here :-).

Well, it's an open question, although the famous theme of the first movement--dot, dot, dot, dah--has been referred to as "fate knocking at the door. This theme appears in different guises in the other three movements as well. And in the Second World War it was a symbol of victory for the British as it stands for V in Morse Code.

That is incorrect. The first movement is in 2/4 time. The first measure is an eighth rest and 3 eighth notes.
