The clip is a loading device to facilitate faster reloading of the magazine. It doesn't actually go into the firearm. The magazine, on the other hand, does. I've never known Hi Point to manufacture a Tec 9 clone, although their 995 rifle shares some similarities. The Hi Point 995, however, uses a proprietary angled magazine, and is not compatible with the straight magazine of the Tec 9/DC9/AB10.

By TEC, you may mean VTEC, that is vertically integrated TEC (total electron content). Slant TEC is the TEC integrated along the line of sight from a receiver to transmitter, along a slant path.
