Well, there is a huge mat of plastic waste floating in the Pacific, there is radioactive waste from the Japanese power plant was ejected during the explosions, there is lead and Mercury from the factories and coal fired power plants in China, the Ganges River is polluted with dangerous chemical wastes, dead bodies, human wastes, and is nothing more than an open sewer, there is bilge water from the hulls of the shipping traffic contaminated with oil and chemicals, not to mention the occasional oil spill, on the other hand the Pacific is pretty large.
