The number of ghosts that appeared to Ebenezer Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol" is four. The number of geese-a-laying in the "Twelve Days of Christmas" is six. Therefore, the sum of the ghosts multiplied by the geese-a-laying is 4 x 6 = 24.

My White Chinese geese started laying at 7 months old. I believe they only lay in Spring and Fall--mine were born in July, so that may have contributed to their age.
Unfortunately, prices vary according to local market demands. The cost of shipping six geese (especially the type that are a-laying) from a "more economical market" may preclude THAT thought. Good luck, though!
