The water vascular system is a hydraulic system used by echinoderms, such as starfish and sea urchins, for locomotion, food and waste transportation, and respiration.
The function is to provide the whole body with water. IN other words it assists the water vascular system

They both use hydraulics to function.
In most plants, the vascular system helps to distribute water and nutrients from the roots throughout the plant to the leaves. The presence of a vascular system allows for plants, especially trees, to grow to great lengths and still obtain all the nutrients and water to feed the cells throughout.
