The problem for Romeo and Juliet is that their families are enemies. Romeo belongs to the Montagu family and Juliet to the Capulet family. They should not even speak to each other.
Their family hates each other so much, and they love each other, but they can not marry.

The problem is that Romeo and Juliet are in love but their parents are fighting so they can't be together. Plus, Romeo gets exiled from Verona (where the story is set) and Juliet is arranged to be married.
