check the battery and connections/cables
On most vehicles, after the problem is taken care of, the check engine light resets automatically after the ignition is turned off and then the engine is started again. If you have fixed one problem, a second problem probably exists.
The ignition system is powered up and ready to run the vehicle.
Climate control blower motor was the fix. The part cost 441 dollars.
It is not supposed to be on when engine is running unless there is a problem.
The old engine sputtered to life as she turned the key in the ignition.
It doesn't want to, It's not done running yet... :) Check the ignition timing with a timing gun. When the engine continues to run after it has been shut off the problem is known is dieseling, or pre-ignition. Hope that helps.
Faulty ignition switch.
I had this problem on my disco 1. Turned out to be the alternator, which was replaced and the problem was fixed.
Its not your engine. Its the fan running to cool the engine down. They all do it and nothing is wrong with your car.
The actual problem is the starter continues to turn after key is turned off and pulled out of ignition.

A person will have no power to the ignition when the key is turned over when the battery is dead or the ignition switch is defective. Each component must be tested to rule them out as a problem.
