Data Flow Diagram or DFD is made to give an idea as to how a particular process will flow.
Streaming Data
Flow Chart is a generic term, and DFD is a specific one. Data Flow Diagram (DFD) is a data flow chart to illustrate the data flow/store/change in a component/system/product from the input to the output.
The main notations for a data flow diagram are - Process - Oval Decision - Rhombus Data Storage - Rectangle Open on the Right Data Flow - Single Arrow Resource Flow - Double Arrow
A data flow diagram can be drawn, instead of searching for one. A data flow diagram is simply a diagram with an input process and a output caused by several factors, which in result of the outcome. A data flow diagram can be complex or simple, depending on the information process. A data flow diagram is a visual way of showing structure of a working process, often used during a planning stage of a project.
Flow control is used in data communications. Flow control is a process that manages the rate at which data is transmitted to ensure that it is properly received.

A DFD consists of a set of processes and data stores and shows the flow of data through the system. First create a process node on the diagram and label it that the 'process' is to delete data. If the data is being deleted from a data store then draw an arrow to the data store that the information is being deleted from and label the arrow with the data being deleted. If the data is being deleted from the data flowing into the process node then show the data before the node and then remove the data after the node.

The three types of data flow are input data flow, output data flow, and intermediate data flow. An example of input data flow is when user information is inputted into a system, output data flow is when search results are displayed to the user, and intermediate data flow is when data is processed or transformed within the system.
