∙ 14y agoThe coolant level is checked at the coolant tank in the passenger front corner of the
engine compartment . The coolant level should be up to the cold mark when the engine
is cold . The radiator should be full so its covering the top plate .

∙ 14y agoIt is in the passenger side coolant tank on the radiator. If the light is on and the coolant is at the proper level then the sensor is defective. To replace it you will have to drain the radiator. Disconnect the wire and remove the clip and remove the sensor.
The coolant is being circulated by water pump. That is normal operation. Ensure coolant is at proper level (and bled if required).
Engine overheat. Check coolant level along with radiator cap for proper pressure and radiator for any leaks.
If there is a cap on the radiator you can check to see if the radiator is full , and if it isn't , " top up " the engine coolant . Otherwise , you check the engine coolant level at the engine coolant reservoir when the engine is cold and maintain the level at the cold mark
This is difficult so pay attention- (1) Remove the radiator cap (2) Start filling the radiator with a proper mixture of water and coolant(Most climates us a 50/50 mixture) (3) Once the coolant reaches the radiator neck stop filling and let the coolant go down, you can speed this up by starting the engine and letting the coolant start to circulate. (4) keep doing this until the coolant level remains at or near the top of the radiator. Happy Motoring!
It does not require service at all. Just make sure that it's clean and you use proper coolant with proper level.
Either the reservoir is low or the sensor is bad.
Check coolant level in coolant recovery tank and radiator
check the coolant level in the radiator
To the top of flange where the radiator cap seals. Pressurized systems overflow to the surge tank when hot and draw the coolant back into the radiator when they cool down. The surge tank has the level mark cast into the plastic. If your radiator is low,the surge tank is probably dry. Fill both to the proper level.
You don't add coolant directly to the radiator, rather it goes into an overflow reservoir in the engine compartment. There will be a "min" or "max" line (or both) showing the proper level to be maintained. The reason we do not remove the radiator cap anymore is to keep the coolant system a sealed system so that no air can penetrate the coolant systems. By adding coolant through the reservoir (which has liquid in it already which is drawn from the bottom of that reservoir) we are not comprising the sealed system.
