That would be a misdemeanor. You will probably have a fine and maybe some jail time under 1 year. Probably not though
Depends on the state and the retailer this was stolen from and their policies with regard to theft.
(in the US) There's no doubt that shoplifting something of $1,000. value definitely crosses the line into a Felony offense - minimum sentence being more than one year in jail. However if it truly IS your first offense and you have an otherwise "good" record you might get it busted down to a misdemeanor and receive a fine or minimal time in jail, or even probation.

Depending on the value of the goods that were stolen - the charge could be either a misdemeanor or a felony.A criminal record. Punishment will depend on what legal jurisdiction you're in. But you could be looking at fines, doing community work, restrictions on movement or times you can go out etc. It will also mean that the police are more likely to come to you if there are other crimes in the area or where you work. It can mean not being able to get a job or even losing a job in future if your employer finds out you have a record.A criminal record will stay with you for life. Some states have some system were you don't have to declare convictions after a certain time but there are usually many exceptions. If, in the future you want to work in a security job, work in a bank, work with children or other vulnerable people. Then you may have to declare your conviction.Like any arrest, it depends on your previous record and the severity of the crime. It can range anywhere from probation to jail time.
It depends on the dollar value of the merchandise that was stolen.
No. Shoplifting may be a misdemeanor, or for high enough values, a felony. Depends on the law of that state.
The penalty depends upon several factors, a few are, the state law pertaining to the crime committed, whether or not the juvenile has previous convictions or problems with authorities and if the state has a statute that allows a juvenile to be prosecuted as an adult.
shoplifting is stealing...The value of what you steal during shoplifting depends on the degree of the charge. In New York, petit larceny is sealing anything valued under $1000. OVer $1000. then starts the degree of Felony. Shoplifting is a form of stealing usually when you go into a store to steal. DO NOT STEAL
Since I am against capital punishment, I don't see that it has any value.
