How to Become a Teen Leader

The Postponing Sexual Involvement (PSI) Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is designed to help teenagers learn to cope with and resist social and peer pressures to become sexually active at inappropriately early ages. PSI encourages those interested in becoming teen leaders of the program, to fill out an application.

Teen Leader Prerequisites

Teen leader applicants should:

  • Be rising to 10th, 11th or 12th grade
  • Be enrolled in Cincinnati Public Schools
  • Have a Social Security Number
Qualifications

A teen leader applicant should:

  • Relate well to other teens.
  • Be a role model whose overall behavior reflects the message of the Postponing Sexual Involvement Educational Series.
  • Desire to be involved in teenage pregnancy prevention activities, especially the Postponing Sexual Involvement program.
  • Feel comfortable speaking before a group.
  • Read and comprehend written material.
  • Make up school work missed, and maintain a quarter grade of "C" or higher in each class.
Compensation for Being a Teen Leader

Teen Leaders will be paid a training stipend for fulfilling their responsibilities at a minimum rate of $8 per hour of training received.
