EMT-B is A Emergency Medical Technician level Basic. They provide care at scenes of emergency and provide care during a ambulance transport.
It will depend on the type and location of the emergency. But, there are basic items that are included in a first aid kit such as gloves, breathing barrier, bandages, gauze, and tape. See the related link for more information.
EMT training usually takes a year to two. It involves basic emergency training.

Enroll in a basic EMT training program. These programs consist of 110 to 120 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of hospital internship, are offered by municipal police, fire and health departments, and are required by all 50 states in preparation for certification. You need to complete a formal training and certification process before starting to work as an emergency medical technician.
