emergent, canopy, understory, floor. Emergent is the very, very top where the tallest trees poke higher. Canopy is where the tops of most of the trees are. Understory is where all the shrubs and undergrowth are. Floor is where all the roots and grass are.
Of the three layers, the top layer is called the "canopy".

The main layers of the rainforest (from top to bottom) are th Emergent Layer, the Canopy Layer, the Under Store, the Shrub Layer, and the Forest Floor. You are welcome!
The Canopy, The Understory, The Herb Layer or Underbrush, and the Forest Floor.
It grows in layers because of the amount of sunlight reaching each part of the forest. Since the emergents are the highest they receive the most amount of sunlight and hence the top layer. As the layers decrease so does the amount of sunlight and hence different heights of the rainforest.
There are four layers in the rainforest: Emergent:(top) Emergent trees are way up here! Canopy: Trees are aliened here. This is also known as the ceiling of the rainforest. UnderStory: (near bottom)Not much light is here. Most of the sunlight is trapped by the canopy. ForestFloor:(bottem) This is the darkest layer. Bugs are EVERYWHERE here!
The middle of the rain forest is typically called the under story. The top of the rain forest or the beginning of the rain forest is typically called the emergent layer.

The deciduous soil. Not much sunlight get to the bottom on the rain forest because the canopy and other layers block the sunlight. The Deciduous forest on the other hand, has many animal droppings and pellets which are good fertilizer and will keep all plants in tip-top shape.
