Depends which branch of service. In the US Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps there are two Lieutenant ranks - Second Lieutenant (O-1) - which is the lowest commissioned officer rank - and First Lieutenant (O-2), which is the next rank up.
Likewise in the Navy and Coast Guard, there are also two Lieutenant ranks - Lieutenant Junior Grade - which is pay grade O-2 and equivalent to a First Lieutenant in any other branch - and Lieutenant - which is pay grade O-3 and equivalent to a Captain in any other branch. After (Navy) Lieutenant comes Lieutenant Commander, which is equivalent to a US Army/Air Force/Marine Corps Major.
In which branch? The US Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps have two Lieutenant ranks - Second Lieutenant (O1) and First Lieutenant (O2). Second Lieutenant would be the rank before First Lieutenant, and there really would be no rank before Second Lieutenant, except for cadet, OCS candidate, etc. The Navy also have two Lieutenant ranks - Lieutenant JG (O2) and Lieutenant (O3), with Lieutenant JG coming before Lieutenant, and Ensign would be the rank which came before Lieutenant JG.
Need to know which organization you're referring to. In the US military, There is Second Lieutenant (01), First Lieutenant (O2), then Captain (O3)... except for the Navy and Coast Guard, which has Ensign (O1), Lieutenant JG (O2), Lieutenant (O3), then Lieutenant Commander (O4... equivalent rank in the Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force is Major)
Captain
i think so. cuz in movies u nevr hear any1 address a first or second lieutenant This depends. Second Lieutenants and First Lieutenants are both addressed verbally as "Lieutenant". The Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force have Second Lieutenants as the lowest Commissioned Officer rank. They are then promoted to First Lieutenants. The next rank for Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force Officers is Captain. The Navy has the rank of Lieutenant but is a higher rank. Naval Officers begin as Ensign. They are promoted to Lieutenant JG (junior grade) and then to Lieutenant. The Navy Lieutenant is the equivalent of an Army Captain. The Navy also has the Captain rank, but the Navy Captain is the equivalent of an Army Colonel.
Basically it's about who gets to order who about. There are lieutenants, captains, majors etc. Etc.u
The number of officers at any specific rank is determined by the needs of the specific police department. A small department may have no lieutenants and no sergeants. A large department may have dozens or hundreds of both.
Yes, newly commissioned officers are commissioned as Second Lieutenants.
Yes, if your MOS entails it, you will most likely go be with the troops, as you increase officer rank, your administrative tasks will increase.
You three lieutenants come with me!
Because it is not empires. You can only use lieutenants in empires.
Lieutenant Colonel insignia is identified by a Silver Maple Leaf. In the US Army it is a cluster of silver OAK leaves. In the British army it is a crown and a single 'pip'.
yes. Lieutenant is a commissioned rank, meaning they're the guys you have to salute, and it's quite a few ranks above sergeant
I'm not sure
In most armies, lieutenants are usually platoon leaders. They are usually the officers that first on the line and spend the most time in combat.
