Divide the number of ounces in a gallon of gasoline by the number of ounces of oil (both fluid measurements). 128/2.6=49 (about) Essentially this is a 50:1 mix.
Conversely if you want a 50:1 mix divide 128 by 50. Answer is 2.56. for 2 gallons 256/50=5.1 ounces. 2-1/2 gallons of gas will take 6.4 ounces of oil.
There is 128 oz in a liquid gallon so to achieve a 40 to 1 ratio you would add approximately 3.2 oz of 2 cycle oil to one gallon of gasoline.
It depends on the mixing ratio of gasoline / oil for the specific piece of equipment you will use the gas / oil mix. Most lawn equipment such as weed eaters and leaf blowers require a 32:1 mixture. Since 1 gallon of gasoline is 128 ounces, it is necessary to mix 128 ounces (or 1 US gallon) of gasoline to 4 ounces of 2 cycle oil to equal 32:1 ratio.
3.2 oz 2-cycle oil to 1 gallon gasoline
6 ounces
32 Ounces gasoline = 1 Quart gas *1 Quart gasoline to 1 Ounce 2-cycle oil AND THEN, FOR 1 GALLON GASOLINE CAN 4 Quarts gas = 1 Gallon gasoline *1 Gallon gasoline (fill line) to 4 Ounces 2-cycle oil OR, FOR 2 GALLON GASOLINE CAN *2 Gallons gasoline (fill line) to 8 Ounces 2-cycle oil USING ANY OF THESE SCENARIOS, DON'T FORGET TO STIR A LITTLE BIT, WITHOUT SPILLING. *DO NOT ALLOW GAS OR OIL TO GET ON YOURSELF OR CLOTHING. AVOID INHALATION OF GASOLINE FUMES. DO NOT DRINK OR SWALLOW GASOLINE OR OIL. KEEP GASOLINE AND OIL AWAY FROM CHILDREN. MIX IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. PROTECT FROM OTHERS, SPARKS, AND FLAME. GASOLINE AND OIL MIX IS POISONOUS, VOLATILE AND FLAMMABLE. GASOLINE IS ALSO POISONOUS, VOLATILE, AND FLAMMABLE. 2 CYCLE OIL IS POISONOUS.
2.6 ounces of oil to one gallon of unleaded gasoline.
A 40:1 ratio would work out to 3-3.5 oz. of 2 cycle oil, to one gallon of fuel.

50:1
Since there are 128 ounces in a gallon, to get a 25:1 mix using 1 gallon of gas means you need 128/25 = 5.12 ounces of oil.
First look what the ratio of the mix is from the manufacturer. Example if it is 40:1 it takes 3.2 oz. of 2 cycle oil....24:1 would be 5.3 oz......50:1 would 2.5 oz........The formula is figured in ounces.... the number 1 in the ratio of the mix is the gasoline so one gallon of gas = 128 ounces. So what ever your mix ratio is , take 128 & divide it by the first number in the ratio of your mix. THE FUEL RATIO IS 32:1-----YOU NEED 4 OZ OF 2 CYCLE OIL FOR EVERY GALLON OF 92 OCTANE GASOLINE. :)
